Gifts for Grandparents with the Grandchildren's Names

Ask grandparents what they want and the honest answer is usually “more time with the grandchildren”. The next best thing is something that keeps the grandchildren close: their names, together, somewhere grandma and grandpa will see every day.

Ideas that grandparents keep

  • Animal-family scenes — bears, elephants, rabbits, owls, deer, penguins and more, with a name for every family member. See Family Keepsakes.
  • Family-tree and roots designs — a tree with the family name says “this all started with you”.
  • “Grandma’s Garden” or “Grandpa’s Workshop” — a hobby scene named for the grandparent. See Garden & Flower and Makers & Artists.
  • A cabin or lake scene for grandparents with a family holiday place. See Cabins, Lakes & the Outdoors.

Fitting many names

Grandparents often have a lot of grandchildren, so plan the text:

  • Keep each line to about 12–15 characters.
  • Use first names only, separated by a dot: “Emma · Noah · Lily”.
  • Choose a larger size (8 inch and up) when there are more than three or four names.
  • Alternatively, use “Nana & Pop’s Grandkids” or the family name with “est.” and the grandparents’ wedding year.

We print exactly what you type, so check every spelling — nothing upsets a grandparent more than a misspelled grandchild.

Names grandparents go by

Use what the grandchildren actually call them: Nana, Grandma, Mimi, Gigi, Oma, Abuela, Grandpa, Pop, Papa, Opa. It makes the piece instantly theirs.

Occasions

  • Grandparents Day, Christmas and birthdays
  • Announcing a pregnancy — add “Baby 2027” as the newest name
  • A big wedding anniversary
  • Moving into a smaller home, when space for keepsakes is limited and a small piece matters

Sending to grandparents far away

Enter their address at checkout to ship it straight to them, with tracking. If several branches of the family each want one, ordering together saves: 10% off for 2 pieces, 15% off for 3 or more, and free shipping from $69.

How each piece is made

Every Oakmira keepsake starts as flat wood board. It is laser-cut into three shaped layers, the artwork and your text are UV-printed onto the surface, and the layers are glued together into a stepped piece about 15 mm (just over half an inch) thick. Designs that look carved or painted are printed to look that way. Each piece is made to order in 3–5 business days, then shipped with tracking: 7–15 business days to the United States and 10–25 business days to most other countries.

Quick answers

Will I see a proof?

Not by default — your text goes into the layout shown in the product photos. If you want to check something first, email us right after ordering and we will hold production until you reply.

What if the name is spelled wrong?

We print exactly what you type. You can change your text free of charge until production starts, usually within 12 hours of ordering. If the printed text differs from what you typed, or the piece arrives damaged, email a photo within 30 days of delivery and we will remake it or refund you — see our refund policy.

Is there a discount for more than one?

Yes: buy 2 pieces and save 10%, or 3 or more and save 15%, applied automatically in the cart. Shipping is $5.99 per order and free on orders of $69 or more.
